Summer is Coming!

Hello lovelies!

As we all have noticed, the sun is shining more and temperatures are rising! Summer is around the corner! But, are you ready for it?

Its time to freshen our closets with this summer's essentials! Put away the boots and cardigans, and bring forward the flip flops and swim suits!

So here are a few things that I highly recommend purchasing for the coming months along with a few tips :)

These shoes honestly work with any summer outfit. It may be with a tank top and shorts, a sun dress, or a bathing suit and cover up.

When it comes to rompers, the more I see, the more I love. When they first appeared on the scene, I was very skeptical. But I have 2 and I definitely need more. They are an entire outfit in 1. If you are apprehensive about buying one, at least try on a few in the store. They are extremely flattering on every body type. I recommend buying them a little to big, as compared to a little too small. If they are too small, you will have a problem in your 'lady area' if you know what I mean ;)

Florals

Thank you to Lauren Conrad for teaching me how to mix patterns. Say if you have a floral skirt with a striped shirt. If the skirt's background is navy, the striped shirt should have a back ground color of navy also. Example:

Now bathing suite are always a sensitive subject. So many different body types and so many different insecurities. From experience, I've learned that if you wear a bathing suit that you LOVE compared to one you think you look the best in, you will feel much more confident and in turn, look better. But here are a few tips I've picked up...

1. If you are going to buy 2 bathing suits, get a solid one and a patterned one so that you can mix and match and end up with 4 suits!

paired with...

2. I have learned that if you are a bit more 'gifted' than others, I do not recommend a bandeau type of bathing suite, nor a string bikini. Triangle bikinis with a wider band provide the most support and most security.

3. If you think you are "in between" a 2 piece and a 1 piece, go with the two piece if you feel comfortable. A one piece will make your hips look wider and they are harder to fit properly across your body. Example: if you have a smaller chest and a larger badonkadonk, the bottom part of the suit with give you a pantie line.

I hope this helps everyone with their summer shopping needs! What are your most useful summer time tips?

My Favorite Things

Guten Tag viewers!
I had a horrible realization today! I have not given you a idea of who I am! Blasphemy! And if you don't know who I am, then why would you want to hear what I have to say?? I believe that telling others your favorite things is the best way to get to know some one. Simlarities are established and thus blossoms a conversaton! Easy as 1-2-3!!

My television is always set to.... THE FOOD NETWORK!
The greatest show to ever air is Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives. Guy Fieri has the most enjoyable job ever. Not only does he love what he does, other people love to watch what he does!

My all time favorite band is All Time Low (kind of a play on words). My favorite album of their's is the Straight to DVD soundtracts closely followed by Nothing Personal. My favorite song is Lost in Stereo.

All Time Low Monster Pile Slim-Fit T-Shirt - 905471
My best friend Whitney gave this shirt to me for my birthday. Needless to say, I freaking love it.

I also admit to having a canvas sneaker fetish. I will never have enough. I bought a new pair today from Targer for $9. My first pair was from PacSun and they were the greatest purchase I have ever made.

These are Keds... ^^

These are amazing...^^

My next project is to hand draw on a pair of white canvas sneakers... I LOVE THEM.

Another one of my favorite things to do is CRAFT. I consider Hobby Lobby to be my Heaven on Earth. I have spent up to 3 hours in Hobby Lobby and I and not ashamed :). I started off scrapbooking, but I don't really do that anymore... I enjoy more challenging craft tasks. I am obsessed with putting things in jars, such as mason jars and apothocary jars.

During the fall, I bought 2 body sprays from Bath & Body Works, one wasTwilight Woods and the other was Sensual Amber. I love them both but they just aren't qualified for spring. So for Valentine's Day, the boyfriend Cody bought me Carried Away...

Carried Away™ Fragrance Mist - Signature Collection - Bath & Body Works

And I must say, I am smitten with it :) It smells like flowers and sunshine!

Another one of my favorite things, is flowers! Particuarly in my hurrrr!!! I own 2 large ones, a grey one and a silver one. Then 3 smallers ones; grey, cream, and coral. And I also have 3 on headbands; a black one, a purple one, and a cream one. 83% of the time, I have a flower in my hair.

^^ Heaven ^^

I have recently become obsessed  with grid based logic puzzles. I can do them for hours and I have actually gotten pretty good at them. I bought a book with 200 puzzles in it and I must say, it is one of my favorite purchases. I highly recommend trying out the website. :) Its a lovely thing to cheer yourself up, says my wonderful best friend, Whitney Caldwell.

I love boys who wear flannel. :)

My Dream House Monday

Meine Haus
My favorite thing to do is go to stores like TJ Maxx, Marshalls, and Ross to look for home items. I can spend hours there. I love finding alternate and creative uses for every day things like lemonade pitchers, tea kettels, mason jars, etc. For example, I want a solid white, opaque, lemonade pitcher filled with flowers to match my living room. I have already found the perfect flowers, just waiting on the pitcher.

Something like this but with a white pitcher and blue flowers...

The idea behind My Dream House Monday is to entertain the interior designer/craft-loving part of me. Every Monday, I will feature a different room and decorate it the way I want (in photographic detail).

The first step of decorating my house, is to find out what house best mirrors my personality and preferences. One place I think of is a loft with exposed brick. This captures my 'artsy' side (I am not claiming that I can paint. I just like to be creative). I picture it being in Asheville, NC in the downtown area. The only problem here is I want to have a family and a loft downtown doesn't exactly sound baby proof.

Although it is gorgeous (sigh...)

So the second option is a more ideal home in a cute neighborhood. Something like this...

This is my idea of the typical american "starter home". I like houses that look like this because I see so much potential. Decorating schemes aren't limited by the architacture of the house. I absolutey LOVE the wrap around porch! That feature is a must on my house. I see rocking chairs and lemonade on summer evenings. When I picture my dream house, this is similar to what I see. Its functional for raising a family and also very pretty but this is about my dream house. Not the house I would settle for. I see something a little more like this...

Now this is more like it.
This is my dream house.

Farewell Winter

Tootles to snow! I thought I would dedicate my first post to saying good bye to the coldest season by adding my favorite things about winter. I first want to say thank you to my best friend Whitney for teaching how to wear a cardigan. Until this fall, I had no idea how to coordinate a scaf-cardigan-boot combo, but I am now a cardigan enthuiast and consider myself as her Protégé.

Smells of Winter. I purchased my first wall flower this fall and I must say, I am addicted. My all time favorite scent of Christmas is 'Tis The Season from Bath and Body Works. I also like Spiced Cider (my room smells like this at the moment)

Snowboarding...? I am sad to admit that I have never been snowboarding. (gasp!) I have wanted to try for 2 years now but I just have not gathered enough courage to actully go. It is on the very top of my to do list for next winter.

Auf Wiedersehen! I will admit that I stumbled upon a new love for fall and winter, but I will always love spring and summer the most!  So with this post, I say good bye to snow and chill and hello to flowers and sunshine!
